Salem Family Photographer . . . One Urban Morning.

We met up on a Sunday morning.
They sipped coffee and hot chocolate while doing some window shopping downtown.

Salem Fine Art Photographer | Dream.

I participate in a monthly project among photographers where we're given a theme and must come up with a creative interpretation of that theme. The group is private, but each photographer can share their image publicly, if they wish.

The theme for March was flight. My image can be seen here:

April's theme was dream
This was my interpretation.

Fine Art Photography | Abandoned.

This building was abandoned by people, but it seems that these vines have taken a liking to it. So, I guess it's not really abandoned, is it?

Just a reminder to stop and enjoy the little things.

Traveling Portrait Photographer | Beauty in the Southwest.

I had the privilege of shooting this gorgeous woman in
Santa Fe, NM last month. She is sweet, funny, and smart. I had my youngest child with me and she brought him a treat! How awesome is that?!
Yeah, he pretty much thought she hung the moon after that.

Thank you, Santana!

Santana is a sign language interpreter and I'm pretty sure I caught her signing to a friend off camera. She intermittently adds signs while she is talking and I am not even sure she realizes she does it.

Salem Fine Art Photographer | A day with film.

Every now and then I make time for myself.

Sometimes it's shopping.
Sometimes it's getting a pedicure.
Sometimes it's just begging out in the backyard.

Sometimes, though, it's me driving around in the car with the music on and stopping every so often to take photos. One day, last fall (yes, I'm slow when it comes to getting film developed, scanned, and blogged) I did just this with my trusty 35mm camera. For anyone interested, these were all taken on the same roll of Ilford Delta 400.

Salem Portrait Photographer | Experimentation Station

I generally prefer to work with natural light, but I thought it would be fun to experiment with some artificial lighting in this neat little location. Thanks to my friend, Laura, for being my patient model.
