Salem Portrait Photographer | 1940s inspired

It was a privilege to photograph this gorgeous woman.

Her natural beauty combined with her killer wardrobe and sense of style made for a fabulous session. 

 Can you see her face in the top lens of the camera? 

She was watching me photograph her!

Did I mention that she's the mother of three boys?

Yeah, if she wasn't so awesome, I'd have to hate her a little bit.

Everyone knows I love shoes and that I am a sucker for details!

Photographing the Ordinary.

Every now and then I do what I refer to as a "walkabout," a term I learned from my college photography instructor, mel buffinton. At the time I don't think I really "got it" so to speak, but I certainly do now! Sometimes I go with a friend or a group friends and sometimes I go by myself. Sometimes I go to cool and interesting places and walk for miles. Other times I walk around a block in an interesting area. 

Heck, sometimes I don't even leave my own yard!

This particular day was a trip with my friend, Dan, to Albany, OR. 

We only had to walk a few blocks to get some cool shots. Then we spent the rest of the day chatting about all kinds of thing and eating lunch. 

Why, yes, those are perm rods. In the middle of the road. 

I guess someone did a perm-n-run? Drive by perming? 

Who knows, but it definitely caught my eye.

Day 1 - Santa Fe.

A car drove by and kicked up some dust, which 

looked so pretty in the sun rays!

Met this adorable couple. 

They look like they're from Portland, OR!

I don't know if you can tell, but their bags are made out of pop can tabs! 

Very cool.

Okay, so this may not be the most artistic shot in the world (okay, it's not artistic at all), but I had to giggle when I saw La Fonda. Yes, it's a swanky hotel in the heart of Santa Fe, but all I could think of was the LaFonda from the movie Napoleon Dynamite.

Her bouquet was SO pretty!

I have to say that this was the first time I've seen a bride jump on a trampoline and boy was it fun! It made me want to do it too! 

(Don't worry, I refrained.)

I snapped this shot of the little flower girl and her friend peeking at the bride and groom while they were getting their formal portraits taken by Jenica. I love how little girls always follow the brides around at weddings, in awe of their dress and beauty. It warms my heart.
