It's about time!

Yes, I finally gave my blog a makeover!
Now I guess I need to start making over my website!

This is so him.

Snapped this of Karson today. The expression and lighting is just so...him.

Waiting for a ride to school

I snapped these two this week, in the mornings while they were waiting for their ride to school

Dandelions!

I took these the other day, while trying to get just the right shot for my friend, Kate.

Oscar, old school style

I took this the other day at the end of a mini shoot with Oscar. I thought this warm black and white edit fit the photo nicely.

For Kate

I tried over and over to write something warm and touching, but the words just don't flow like I want them to. So, to make things simple, I will just say that I am ridiculously proud of you for your recent accomplishments. I'm so excited for you to embark on your new adventure!
.
.
.
I took this photo for you today, my dandelion loving, vegan eating, child rearing, big word using, made up word adoring, song singing, poem writing, multiple college degree owning, travelling, carefree yet over-planning, Lucy watching, sarcastically inclined, romantical friend!

Boaz Family (Salem, Oregon)

This is a larger share than usual (from one session), but I had a hard time narrowing them down to any fewer than this! Plus, this will give clients an idea of the kind of variety they get from a family session.
.
.
.
So, I met up with the Boaz family in downtown Salem and we just walked around for about an hour taking photos in the alleys. Ethan is so social and friendly that we had people stopping to watch as he babbled, smiled, and waved at them! It was so funny.

Little Ethan, taking his parents on a walk. Fun with the fisheye lens!

This was taken at the end of our session. It was nap time and this book kept Ethan from getting fussy. They brought this book from their home. I love when we can include a personal item as a prop for a photo session!

I love Ethan's expression here!
Father and son.

Such an adorable family!

We found this great little door with fun colors to use as a backdrop.

Kera & Billy. I love this shot!

I really like this one too!

Mom and Dad, showing some love for their little guy.

It didn't take much to get Ethan to smile. He was so happy!

What's that you just said?

My parents are kissing? Nooooo!!!!

We loved this blue door!
You may recognize it from another shoot I recently did.

Kera gave Ethan her necklace to play with and I really liked the color it added to the photos!

Ethan and his Mama.

I definitely see a resemblance here!

Cheeeeeese!

This is definitely my favorite family shot from the session.

I'm pretty sure Ethan was looking at some ladies walking by. Such a flirt!

Gettin' some love from the parents!

Accidental Letters

The topic last week, for my online photography group, was accidental letters. Here some that I found last week.
(Please note that I intentionally started some sentences with lowercase letters on purpose.)
.
.
.
X is for xtreme need of repair (hey, it counts) V is for Very exposed tree roots.

t is for time to clean the windows!

r is for really tall street lamp.

o is for outlet of exhaust fumes (exhaust pipe on a truck),

O is for outerspace vehicle landing pad.

H is for hanging in a tree outside my bedroom.

D is for delicious drinks in the morning.

T is for tons of fun on a scooter!

C is for coffee! And caffeine!

A is for always something to do in the backyard.

Sneak Peek from the Boaz Family shoot

I met the Boaz family about a year ago when they hired me to take Ethan's newborn photos. I hadn't seen them since that shoot and I couldn't believe how big Ethan was! Time just flies by.
He is such a happy little baby!
Like I posted recently...I'm learning to love the shots in between the 'real' shots.
We had a blast shooting in the alleys of downtown Salem.
More photos to come!

Miss Katie with a 38 week belly!

I met Katie when I was 11 years old!
We now have 3 kids each and she's expecting her 4th!
She is only 35 weeks pregnant, but is measuring 38 weeks.
So, she may be having little Hudson sooner than expected!
My photo buddies should appreciate the bokeh here (despite the dappled light)
